CCTV (Hikvision DVR and Analog Camera Setup)

How to setup a Hikvision Digital Video Recorder and Analog Camera?

The setup comes in an easy way wherein even a non-tech savvy person can handle it.

So to start, you must have the following:

• Hikvision 4 Channel DVR w/ 12v DC Power Adapter
• VGA or HDMI cable
• Mouse
• Hikvision Analog Camera
• 1 TB Hard Disk Drive
• 3 Foot BNC Jumper (RG59 Coaxial Jumper Cable with BNC Connectors)
• 12v DC Power Adapter (for camera)
• Television or Computer Monitor

First is to setup the DVR.
1. Open the DVR, put inside the 1TB HDD then lock using the small screws and close theDVR.

1.b. Connect the Power  and SATA cable of the DVR to the HDD

2. Connect the 12volts DC Power Adapter to the DVR as well as the mouse and the VGA or HDMI Cable from the DVR to the television.

3. Connect the first BNC connector of the BNC Jumper to the camera. Then the second BNC connector to the video input of the DVR and also connect the 12v DC Power Adapter to the camera and plug it into a 110v or 220v outlet.

4. Now plug the power adapter of the DVR into a 110v or 220v outlet as well as the power cord of the television.

After having the power supply needed by the camera, DVR and the television, with all the right connections of the wires and cables, it should be working now normally.

5. After the startup of the DVR, an  Activation pop-up window will appear. A default username will be available which is admin, so you just have to create your password. Just type into the Create New Password box your new password and type it again to the Confirm new Password Box to confirm.

Your Hikvision DVR is now activated. So it's just that simple, as easy as 123 and no sweat.
